Ben Jongbloed & Anete Veidemane
Ben Jongbloed is an assistant professor at KiTES (Knowledge, Transformation, Society) the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In the university’s Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences. He lectures in the field of policy sciences and supervises students. His research focuses on issues of governance and resource allocation in higher education and he has published widely on these issues in scientific journals and books. Ben has been involved in several national and international research projects for clients such as the Netherlands’ ministry of Education and Science, the European Commission and the OECD. Often his projects focus on funding reforms, student support, university rankings (e.g. U-Multirank) and entrepreneurship in higher education (HEInnovate).
Anete Veidemane (MSc) works as a PhD researcher at KiTES (Knowledge, Transformation, Society), the University of Twente. Before joining CHEPS, she worked as a consultant in data analytics team for several years and interned at the OECD and the UN. Anete has actively taken part in multiple European projects such as DECDOE (European Deans Council for Sustainable Development), U-Multirank (an international ranking and transparency tool), TEFCE (a project aimed at developing a European Framework for Community Engagement), a review on social inclusion policies in Europe and mapping of graduate tracking measures in EU-28 countries. During her internship at the UN, Anete was responsible for performing gap analysis on MOOCs and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for outer space applications.
