The ongoing digitization of our society means that more and more data is generated, sent and stored. That is why digitization is one of the key focus areas of the EU and part of the ‘Twin Transition’: further digitization is needed to achieve climate goals. The expected growth in the use of data is twenty-fold in 2030 (compared to 2019).

The LEAP program builds a result-oriented ecosystem with partners from across the value chain. LEAP was launched to explore alternative solutions towards a sustainable growth of the digital infrastructure industry. The aim of LEAP is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable digital infrastructure in which innovative developments are integrate at the heart of our energy system and provide a solution for spatial planning with circular use of materials. One of the topics in the LEAP program is the development of a technology roadmap with energy-efficient technological innovations in the field of ICT. During this session, a number of innovations and studies are reviewed and questions for help are asked to the public.

De voortgaande digitalisering van onze samenleving betekent dat steeds meer gegevens worden gegenereerd, verzonden en opgeslagen. Daarom is digitalisering één van de beleidsspeerpunten van de EU en onderdeel van de ‘Twin Transition’: voor het halen van klimaatdoelen is verdergaande digitalisering nodig. De verwachte groei van het gebruik van data is het twintigvoudige in 2030 (ten opzichte van 2019). 

Het LEAP-programma werkt aan een ketenbreed en resultaatgericht ecosysteem gefocust op het toepasbaar maken van duurzame technologische innovaties op het gebied van ICT, waarin overheid, kennisinstellingen en bedrijven intensief samenwerken in R&D-projecten, projectmatige praktijktoepassingen en kennisontwikkeling en -deling in Nederland en Europa. Tijdens deze sessie passeert een aantal innovaties en onderzoeken de revue en worden hulpvragen gesteld worden aan het publiek.
